Football

We took 2 teams to the football festival at TAB - both teams showed amazing determination and teamwork throughout the whole event. What was most pleasing was the fact they never gave up and supported each other throughout. It was the turn for our Girls to take part in their football festival with most of the players having their first experience at playing in a 'real' football match against other schools. The girls worked well together and enjoyed every minute of the festival.

The WSSA Girls Football Competition took place at Worthing FC, giving the girls the exciting experience of playing in a football stadium. They started strongly with wins against The Vale and TAB, followed by a draw with Goring, finishing top of their group without conceding a goal. A tense semi-final against Elm Grove ended 0-0 after extra time, leading to a penalty shootout. Despite some excellent saves from Alice, the team narrowly missed out on the final and finished joint third with The Orchards. The girls should be incredibly proud, remaining unbeaten throughout the entire tournament. ⚽🏆
Our Y5/6 team took part in the WSSA football competition. The team played against 8 other schools from across the town and had to battle hard throughout all their matches. Lots of great passing, tackling and saves from our goalkeepers saw the team finish joint 5^th overall.
A massive congratulations to our Y3/4 Girls football team who won the WSSA qualifying tournament this week. They went undefeated throughout and did not concede a goal. This was the first time the team had played together but you wouldn't have known it as they worked so well together.
