Year 2 Victorians

As part of their Victorians topic, Year 2 had visitors who brought in a selection of old bikes for them to look at. The children found out about the similarities and differences between old bikes and modern ones and looked at the different types of lights that were used in the past. Many children even got to have a ride on a child's penny-farthing bicycle! A big Thank You to Mr and Mrs Gill for coming in and sharing their bike collection with us.
Year 2 had fun with their own bikes and scooters in school. They got to ride them around the playground and thought about the similarities and differences between their vehicles and the old bikes that we saw last week. The children have also been drawing their bikes/scooters and will be doing some non-fiction writing later this week about what they have found out about the history of bikes.
