Worthing's Symphony Orchestra

Year 4 had the wonderful opportunity to watch Worthing's Symphony Orchestra perform at the Assembly Hall. The children have been learning about orchestras and orchestral instruments and have been listening to the works of John Williams in class, so they were very excited to see and hear the instruments play live. Unfortunately, we didn't get to hear any John Williams, but we enjoyed listening to some equally wonderful music. We heard the theme tune to Wallace and Gromit, the brilliant Hall of the Mountain King and Pirates of the Caribbean. The children jumped when they heard Haydn's Surprise Symphony, and they enjoyed lesser-known pieces too. We saw just how big the Double Bass is and watched the Brass section sparkle. If any of the children are inspired and wish to find out more about learning to play an instrument, please do not hesitate to get in contact.
