World Book Day 2026
Homefield was filled with colour, creativity and a real love of reading as we celebrated World Book Day. Children across the school enjoyed a range of bookâthemed activities, from sharing stories with friends to taking part in imaginative challenges in their classrooms.
Pupils and staff arrived dressed as their favourite characters, bringing stories to life and filling the school with excitement. Throughout the day, classes enjoyed reading sessions, fun literacy games and opportunities to explore new books together.
These photos capture just a few of the wonderful moments from our celebrations. It is fantastic to see so much enthusiasm, teamwork and imagination on display—everything World Book Day is all about!
As part of our World Book Day celebrations, our Year 5 children spent a wonderful session with Year 2, sharing their love of reading and creative storytelling.
The pupils enjoyed a lively game of book bingo before working together to invent imaginative stories using a selection of random objects and pictures. There were lots of laughs and plenty of brilliant ideas!
To end their visit, Year 5 shared their favourite books with the younger children—made even better with a cookie or two. It was a lovely opportunity for both year groups to connect, collaborate and celebrate the joy of reading.
