Making an "All About Me" Poster

We would love you and your child to take part in the Summer holiday task of making an “All About Me” poster.  We use this in the first 1/2 of the Autumn term to help children share information about themselves with their new friends and the adults. Click here to find out more.

Parents Guide to Phonics

At Homefield Primary we have chosen Little Wandle Letters and Sounds Revised as our systematic, synthetic phonics programme, to teach early reading and spelling.  Please click here to read more about the scheme.

Toilets and School Readiness

Children starting in reception is an exciting but also potentially anxious time for parents. If your child isn’t quite clean and dry, or they have a medical condition such as constipation, it can be an additional source of worry. What if they have an accident in class? How do I talk to their teacher about this? Click here for tips and information to help take the worry out of starting school.

Tips for Parents

When your child starts at Homefield there are a number of skills they should have ideally mastered. Please click here to read more.

Health and Safety

Your child’s health and safety is of great concern to us.  Click here to read some suggestions and regulations that will ensure your child is able to learn more effectively and settle happily with us.

Uniform

At Homefield Primary and SSC we have a “relaxed” uniform policy for the Early Years. We believe that children learn best when they feel relaxed, can independently manage their clothes and toileting, and are ready to learn in all areas of the school. Learning outside is good for mental health and wellbeing and children should wear clothes that allow them to make the most of school life. Please click here to read more and view our uniform policy and price list.

Hot School Meals

All children in EY to Year 2 have the opportunity to have a hot cooked meal in school. These meals are provided daily by Chartwells. Click here to find out more information.

Pupil Premium Entitlement

Pupil premium is funding to improve education outcomes for disadvantaged pupils in schools in England. Evidence shows that disadvantaged children generally face additional challenges in reaching their potential at school and often do not perform as well as other pupils. Click here to find out more and see if you are eligible.

Clubs and Wraparound Care

We are lucky to be able to offer a wide range of clubs at both the Lower and Upper School sites. Please click here to see what we offer and how to book.

High Expectations

At Homefield Primary School we have "High Expectations". Click here to view our policy.

Leave From Learning

Parents have an additional legal duty to ensure their child attends school regularly. This means their child must attend every day that the school is open, except in a small number of allowable circumstances, such as being too ill to attend or being given permission for an absence in advance from the school.

Full details regarding attendance and absence can be found here.

Penalty Notice

The Department for Education has recently introduced a new National Framework for Penalty
Notices issued for unauthorised absence in term time. These changes came into force for Penalty
Notice Fines issued after 19th August 2024. Read the full notice here.

Amazon Wish List

We have an Amazon Wish List!  You can view this by clicking on the following link: https://amzn.eu/cbRFoOF

Any gifts are greatly appreciated!  The items on our list are to support teaching and learning.  As you know, schools are in a financial crisis, and we need as much help as possible.  We know that parents/carers love to support Homefield, and we thought this was a convenient way to help out.  Also, sometimes to get free delivery on goods you have to spend a certain amount and some parents/carers may choose to send us something from the list to make up the ‘difference’.  Please do share the link with friends and family!  Thank you!
